RSPCA-NSW SELLING PET PARK

The RSPCA-NSW bought “Tradewinds Park Pet Resort” at Woodburn some years ago with the promise that they would open up a shelter on the same property, using the income generated from the boarding Kennel, it never happened!
Here is what then CEO of RSPCA-NSW stated to media when they agreed to purchase the property and business.
The RSPCA is buying the Tradewinds Park Pet Resort at Woodburn, which it will continue to operate as a first class pet boarding resort. RSPCA CEO Bernie Murphy said that the profits from pet boarding will be used to establish an animal shelter on adjoining land.
It never happened!!

RSPCA-NSW ran it for awhile then leased it out privately.
RSPCA-NSW still owns the property (house/kennels) but not the business.

This just makes us VERY ANGRY that the animal rescue groups in this region would have killed for the chance to own and or lease and run this facility as a boarding kennel and a rescue centre.

With proper management and the capabilities our organisation’s have, it would have been a facility to be proud off and would make a huge impact on the north coast the RSPCA-NSW do not have for animal rescue.

It all is just MONEY MONEY & MONEY – “All Creatures Great and Small” run a very sad third it would seem.

“The purchase is expected to be finalised in early February,” he said. “The new shelter, when completed in 12- 18 months time, will support the work of the RSPCA in the area as will the recent appointment of a full-time inspector for the region.”
As there are NO RSPCA SHELTERS in Grafton, Lismore, Ballina, in fact all the way to the Queensland border.
Mr Murphy said Inspector Peter Bartley will be based at Lismore to cover the far north coast area.

You the public this RSPCA-NSW relies on for funding used to purchase this property may consider asking them to lease or donating this public funded establishment to these magnificent animal rescue organisations.

They are in desperate need of facilities such as Tradewinds and have been pushed aside when they confronted the RSPCA-NSW.

Give your local RSPCA a phone call and ask.
WHY is Tradewinds being sold? –

WHY are there not animal shelters there?

Give this functional establishment to those who care in that area for animal welfare.
Clearly RSPCA-NSW have abandoned this public service to the far north coast of providing animal shelters, and here we have dedicated volunteers, in URGENT need of public help to stay operational by foster caring in private homes instead of proper shelters.
Grafton Animal Rescue

We in the nth rivers are in urgent need of help. “ARRG “save animals from several pounds in that area, Grafton has “Happy Paws” who are full up and in great need of support and “Grafton Animal Rescue” (though we now can only help with desexing and some kittens/cats). What happened here … where is the shelter? Can anyone lend us $1.875 MILLION?
